Taliban launches operation against Daesh hideout in Kabul following the mosque attack

Days after a blast that took place outside a mosque in Afghan capital, Kabul, Taliban launched an operation against the Daesh hideout in Kabul’s Pagham district. Daesh has recently claimed responsibility for many attacks in Afghanistan that killed "over 30 military men and civilians" in the country.

Kabul, October 6: Days after a blast that took place outside a mosque in Afghan capital, Kabul, Taliban launched an operation against the Daesh hideout in Kabul’s Pagham district. Daesh has recently claimed responsibility for many attacks in Afghanistan that killed "over 30 military men and civilians" in the country. It was noted that as many as 10 members of a family affiliated with Daesh were also killed in the operation carried out by the Taliban forces following the mosque attack.

Speaking to the media, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid who is also the country's information and culture deputy minister, further informed that the operation was launched on Tuesday evening and four members of Daesh were also arrested during the mission. "Last night, in the vicinity of the 7th city of Kabul, a special unit of the Islamic Emirate carried out an operation against the ISIS groups. As a result of this operation, which was very decisive and successful, the ISIS bases were completely destroyed and all the existing ISIS members were killed in them," Mujahid had said in a tweet on October 4.
 
Engulfed with terror and horror, several people were killed in a bomb blast near a mosque in Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday. Speaking about the blast, a Taliban Spokesperson said that the incident took place in the noon in front of the mosque which killed 12 people and as many as 32 have been injured in this violence.
 
Since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in mid-August, attacks by ISIL-affiliated terrorists against them have increased. The rise in terrorist attacks has raised the possibility of a wider conflict between the two groups. The attack comes weeks after a series of three explosions killed at least three, including Taliban officials, and injured around 20 in Afghanistan's Jalalabad.
