Chandigarh, October 9: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met Union Minister Amit Shah for the ongoing farmer’s protest. The two leaders talked mostly about the possibility of the opening of Singhu border. He stated that the people from the villages around the Singhu border of Sonipat met him and demanded the road to the border be opened. He also mentioned that the Supreme Court has also taken cognizance into this matter.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Manohar Lal Khattar said, “We are hopeful that there would be a solution soon, especially after the 20th October Supreme Court hearing." Recently, the Supreme Court had asked the farmers what they were protesting for when the farm laws had been stayed. As part of their continuous protest against the passage of three farm laws, the farmers have been camping at the border surrounding Delhi-NCR for months.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government has also ordered all PWD roads to be repaired within a month that have been damaged due to the ongoing protest. Earlier in the day Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar also met a Bhartiya Kisan Sangh delegation from Sonipat for the opening of Singhu border.
