We want to have good diplomatic relations with India, says Taliban after NSA Conference in India

MEA Spokesman Arindam Bagchi yesterday reiterated India"s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.

New Delhi, November 12: After India held the first NSA level Afghanistan summit on November 10, the Taliban said that India was an important country in the region and would want to maintain good diplomatic relations with the neighboring county. Taliban was not present for the Afghan meet that took place in Delhi. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid in a statement said that the conference was in the best interest of Afghanistan and also assured that the policy of the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan will not use its land against any country.

Addressing a press conference, Zabihullah Mujahid said that the conference was in the best interest of Afghanistan and the country which participated would have thoughtfully discussed improving and safeguarding security in Afghanistan and ensuring security to the current government. He further added that Afghanistan was optimistic about the stability and security of their country and the meeting would pave the path of understanding and are hopeful that it benefits Afghanistan.
 
The meeting was held in New Delhi and was chaired by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and was attended by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, and the Security Council Heads of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
 
Reiterating to the conference held in the neighboring country, Taliban spokesperson Suhail Shaheen said that the dialogue was a positive development. India’s meeting on November 10th was the first regional meeting on Afghanistan after the 15th of August when the Taliban took control of the country.
