Mumbai, November 15: The makers of Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar, among others, unveiled the film’s teaser on Monday, 15 November. This film, which is largely inspired by late poet Chand Bardai’s epic which is titled Prithviraj Raso, stars Akshay in the titular role and Manushi as his love interest, Sanyogita.
Sharing the teaser on social media, Akshay Kumar also announced that Prithviraj will release on 21 January, 2022.
Akshay Kumar said in a tweet, “A heroic story about pride and valour. Proud to play Samrat #Prithviraj Chauhan. Celebrate #Prithviraj with #YRF50 only at a big screen near you on January 21, 2022.” The teaser also shows us a few glimpses of the characters which are played by actors Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt.

This movie is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Dwivedi had earlier said in a statement, about the movie, “Prithviraj is based mainly on medieval literature, an epic called Prithviraj Raso by the poet Chand Bardai. Apart from a couple of versions of Raso, there are other literary works on Prithviraj, his life, and times. In addition to these, there are commentaries on Raso." He added saying that he had to “get involved in exhaustive research” in order to give film justice.
