Mumbai police arrests man for running fake currency printing factory; receives 1,60,000 counterfeit notes, 53 fake notes of Rs. 2,000

Mumbai, November 24: The Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai Police has busted an Indian banknote printing factory, which was operating in the Pydhonie area in Mumbai.

They have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection to the factory, informed Mumbai Police, on Wednesday. The person who was arrested has been identified as Shabbir Hasan Qureshi. The police have also recovered Rs. 1,60,000 counterfeit notes and 53 fake notes of Rs. 2,000 from the said factory.
 
 
Besides all this, a computer printer and other material required in order to produce these fake notes have been recovered from Shabbir’s house, said the police. They said, “The accused was printing notes at his own house, he has been printing these notes for the past several days and has distributed them in different markets of Mumbai.”

The accused, Shabbir, was arrested by the Pydhonie Police Station, and the police is now on the look-out for his accomplice in the matter. Shabbir is to be presented in the court today. Further investigation into this issue is underway.
