These are real-life heroes whose tales must be told. These are ordinary men and women from every corner of the country doing extraordinary work. These are individuals whose armour consists of action. These are people whose narrative revolves around morals and bravery.

Meet 28 highly inspirational individuals from all across India - who are pro-India, and who have contributed significantly to the nation. At times, it appears as though certain individuals were designed to be a certain way. In fact, they have written their own scripts for their lives. They are propelled forward by a sense of direction. They have remained steadfast in the face of adversity. They do their utmost to honour every moment they live. At the end of the day, it all adds up to an enormous contribution - to the nation and to humanity. We have all read novels that have had a profound effect on our lives. I was altered as I wrote this book. To establish a connection with, and to learn about the lives of so many incredible Indians has been a life changing experience. Their humility and love for Bharat was the most defining characteristic common to them.

Bana Singh's tale - as a recipient of the Param Vir Chakra(PVC) has had a profound effect on me. Since then, whenever I'm confronted with a challenge, I close my eyes and visualize Bana Singh and his team scaling a 1500-foot ice wall in a blizzard at 50 degrees. And I consider whether the situation I find myself in, is more difficult than that? No, and then this reflection fundamentally reframes the circumstance.

Dr. Kumud Joshi has nearly five decades of experience treating people with natural remedies. At one time, a doctor (whose wife she had healed) provided her a ten-bed clinic at a prominent location in Mumbai for free, in order to provide natural healing to a larger number of citizens. She accepted his offer and for several years did not charge patients. These are unheralded individuals. A citizen who has elected to forsake the revenue generated by a prime piece of real estate, a physician who demonstrates respect for it by providing free care. Does this phenomenon occur in other parts of the world as well, or is it inherent to the essence of Bharat?

Srikanth Bolla inspires me tremendously. Energized, straightforward, and articulate - he was blind from birth. His parents worked in a village as agricultural labourers. From that beginning, to MIT, to founding a company dedicated to creating a more sustainable world, his life story will change the way you view everything in your life.

The Bombay Stock Exchange is well-known. Many people are aware that Ashish Chauhan is the BSE's CEO. Few realise that his early experience of rural poverty fuels his passion for enabling the development of value and riches for millions. His take on India will motivate you.

Bharat Biotech's founder, Dr Krishna Ella, comes from a poor agricultural background. A Rotary scholarship enabled him to continue his education in the United States of America. The generous donors who supported the scholarship had no notion that their gift would one day aid India through the worst pandemic in a century. We are familiar with him as the inventor of Covaxin. Since its start, Bharat Biotech has developed a number of life-saving vaccinations. Pakistan has spared no effort to cause harm to India. However, the vaccines produced by this Indian company have saved the lives of youngsters in Pakistan. His vision sparked the establishment of Genome Valley, a knowledge cluster in Hyderabad that is currently home to more than 100 businesses.

Certain industries do not receive sufficient attention. We live in a world where meal delivery applications receive considerable media attention. However, agriculture, which produces food, is a mostly disregarded sector. A population's health is determined by the health of the soil. Dr Nagaraj Hegde, an agricultural innovator, has developed a method that eliminates the need to burn stubble or carry it. It will rejuvenate the soil and improve the quality of the air (as no burning or transportation is needed).

By increasing the labour on a project, you can expedite the construction of roads and bridges. However, we cannot accelerate the growth of trees by adding more water or soil. Trees are incredibly good to the soil and the air in terms of healing. Peepal Baba has facilitated the planting of almost a crore trees around India.

Gen. Ved Malik, former COAS, imparts advice gained throughout a lifetime of service to the country.

Dr. Rajat Mitra imparts enlightening views on the significance of psychology in the development of New India. As much as we need Rafales and other technology, we also need to build our citizens' psyches. That requires us to look at our past honestly and come to terms with it. The seeds of a fresh and powerful future lie within that release.

When I read the email from Vikas Manhas describing his life tale, tears welled up in my eyes. He channeled his anguish of viewing troops' burial pyres far from their families into a career of dedication to our valiant soldiers and their equally valiant parivars.

We are not a free nation simply because we achieved independence on August 15, 1947. We shall remain a free nation as long as the valiant men and women of our armed services protect it 24 hours a day, seven days a week, sometimes at the cost of the ultimate sacrifice. From -50 degrees in Siachen to +50 degrees in Rajasthan's desert, they stand firm to ensure our safety in our homes.

No other country on the earth has such a diverse and profound culture as India. Each of India's regions has its own own topography, history, cuisine, and textile culture. Ami Shroff of Shrujan offers an enlightening viewpoint on how we should approach crafts. And it is in this way that we enrich our lives.

Numerous further tales are included in the book. Each of them is deserving of its own book. Each of them has a message for citizens as we celebrate our 75th year of independence.

These are real-life heroes whose tales must be told. These are not folks who are wearing cosmetics or who are aided by a screenplay or editing. These are ordinary men and women from every corner of the country doing extraordinary work. These are individuals whose armour consists of action. These are people whose narrative revolves around morals and bravery. Each one is a box-office smash. For long decades, they have towered over the screen heroes who were confused for genuine heroes.

Their stories provide inspiration on a variety of levels. At a personal, professional, and civic level. This is not a discussion on passive reading. However, what about putting that inspiration into action? Our acts and inactions shape the world in which we live. To individuals who are uncertain about what they can do or whether their unrecognized efforts will make a difference, please understand that EVERY action counts.

I'd like to encourage all Indians to share their India Positive actions by sharing on social media with the hashtag #IndiaPositiveCitizen.
