New Delhi, Dec 23: In a horrifying incident that instigates violence, oath videos to preserve “Hindu Rashtra” showing Hindutva group members, journalists, and a Bharatiya Janata Party leader calling for violence have surfaced on social media.
 
Editor-in-chief of Sudharshan News Suresh Chavhanke, BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay and seer Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati were a few of the speakers seen at these events. Chavhanke is seen administering the oath and asking people to ‘die for and kill’ to make India a Hindu Rashtra (Hindu nation)’.

Many BJP leaders and speakers themselves have posted the video on social media and the netizens are pointing out the hate speech that is being made openly against the minority community in the country. The videos have led to widespread outrage and concern for the safety of minority communities. Many social media users also asked why isn’t any action been taken against those seen in the video?
 
 
1. The two events were held in different locations- Delhi and Haridwar, between December 17 and December 19.
 
2. In one of the videos, Chavhanke is seen leading a crowd that is taking the oath, at an event of Hindu Yuva Vahini in New Delhi on December 19.
 
3. During the oath, Chavhanke, asked the crowd to lift their right hand in a pledge position, saying, “We take an oath and make a resolution that till our last breath, we shall fight, die for and if need be, kill, to make this country a Hindu Rashtra.” The video of the same was posted by Chavanke on Twitter.
 
4. In his Twitter post, he captioned the video as “The lions and lionesses of Hindu Yuva Vahini taking an oath for Hindu Rashtra.”
 
5. Videos from the Haridwar event show seers asking Hindus to buy weapons. At this event, BJP leader Upadhyay was present and presented ‘Bhagwa Samvidhaan (Saffron Constitution)’.
 
6. In the same event, Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, a priest known to rake controversy with his comments, said, “Economic boycott will not work…No community can survive without picking up weapons…And swords won’t work, they look good only on stages. You need to update your weapons…More and more offsprings and better weapons, only they can protect you.”
 
7. Netizens, while slamming the videos, asked for the arrest of those seen instigating violence.
