On the backdrop of coming Women's day, Saras Aajeevika Mela 2021 started to boost women

New Delhi, Feb 27: The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, has inaugurated the Saras Aajeevika Mela 2021 on Feb 26, at Noida Haat. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar while inaugurating the event highlighted that the Ministry of Rural Development is working to include more women under the Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The event was started on Feb 26, 2021 and will conclude on Mar 14, 2021.

He also said that, the SHGs have always played a vital role to increase the family income as well as improved the quality of life for them on personal level. It is being organized by the Ministry of Rural Development whereby more than 300 rural self-help groups and craftsman from 27 states have participated.
 
The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has started the initiative of Saras Ajeevika Mela 2021, in association with Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). The event was launched with the objective of bringing the rural women Self Help Groups (SHGs), which are formed with the help and support of DAY-NRLM, under one platform.
 
 
The platform provides the SHG Women to showcase their skills and sell their products, which eventually helps them to build their linkages with bulk buyers. Through the event, the rural SHG women are exposed at the vital national level that in turn help them to understand the demand and taste of the urban customers. The event is organized by 'Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART)' which is the marketing arm of the ministry.
 
Under the event, workshops are conducted for the rural SHG women that help them to boost their knowledge and sharpen their skills in book keeping, product design, GST, packaging, communication skills and marketing or e-marketing.
