New Delhi, March 16: When they don’t have answers to questions they gag your voice or kill your digital identity. Eliminating one’s digital identity is no less than a murder in virtual world. In the past half a decade, the Twitter account True Indology has fought a lone battle and single-handedly dispelled several theories about festivals, Hindu scriptures and the attempt to sugar coat the massacres by invaders on the Indian subcontinent. In a recent update to the True Indology case, the suspension by Twitter India has been challenged in the Supreme Court by social activists Gaurav Gohad.

Gohad had earlier lodged detailed police complaint at Gohad Police in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh against Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari and other officials for suspending TrueIndology twitter account.

Also, FIR was lodged by Shrikant Sharma at Vidisha for suppressing Freedom of Expression by arbitrarily suspending TrueIndology and imposing radical 'Leftist' views. It is in November 2020 that a war of words broke out on social media between IPS officer D Roopa and a Twitter user ‘True Indology’ over whether firecrackers are Indian or not.

The tussle that began with D Roopa questioning the need for bursting firecrackers on Deepavali and ended in the suspension of True Indology’s account. However, it is not clear why the account has been suspended and based on whose complaint.

Twitter India has seemingly been on the forefront of suppressing and suspending Hindu voices but showing leniency to Anti India and Anti Indian Government elements. Earlier this week, Twitter India made an attempt to supress the Hindu voices by arbitrarily suspending twitter handles of the Legal Rights Observatory (@LegalLRO) and the Dalit Hindu Rights Group- the Dalit Positive Movement (@DalitPositive).

"Private Company can't censor free voices of Indians. Only state is sovereign being a private entity can't assume role of the state", said the Legal Rights Observatory in its tweet series adding that Twitter's selective action against Pro Hindu ideology will not be anymore tolerated.
