Skill Ministry in association with 9 IIMS invites applications for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship

New Delhi, March 25:Associating with 9 Indian Institute of Management, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has invited applications for Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship from across the country. The ministry has launched the fellowship with an aim to strengthen the district-level skill ecosystem for decentralised skill development governance.

The ministry is hosting the program in collaboration with IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM-Jammu, IIM Udaipur, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Nagpur, IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Ranchi.
 
 
 
 
Issuing the statement to the ministry, “MGNF is designed to decentralize the process of development. Instead of a top-down approach of development, this has the potential to drive the development of the country in a bottom-up approach."
The fellowship is a two-year blended program comprised of classroom sessions at IIMs and unique opportunities in order to promote skill planning and development across district economies. In the course of their training, the fellows would be an asset and resource person for the district skill committee (DSC) to develop, manage and coordinate the skill programs at the district- level.
 
It also provides a unique opportunity for young and dynamic individuals in order to combine classroom sessions at IIM with engagement in district economies in a bid to promote skill development and skill planning.
 
The interested candidates must have a minimum graduate degree from a recognised university and should be citizens of India in the 21-30 years of age-group. The selected fellows will receive a stipend of Rs 50,000 per month in the first year and Rs 60,000 per month in the second year of their fellowship as compensation.
