Videshi Faugi tunes in for Swadeshi song! US Navy sings Hindi song 'Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera'!

New Delhi, March 29: Echoing the state of relations between the United States and India, members of the US Navy sang a popular Swadesh movie song at a dinner meeting between US Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Michael M Gilday and India's Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

US Navy personnel sang “Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera” the song which is from the Swadesh movie. The original song is called “Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera” and was performed by coveted musician AR Rahman for the soundtrack of the film “Swades” in 2004.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Sandhu shared a video of officers singing Yeh Jo Desh Hai Tera from the film Swades. He wrote: "This is a friendship bond that cannot be broken ever." The song was originally composed and sung by AR Rehman for the 2004 film Swades.
 
 
Apart from Sandhu, US Navy Band also posted the video on the social media wall. "The @usnavyband Sea Chanters share a song of happiness and love at a small performance for the @USNavyCNO and the Ambassador of India to the United States, @SandhuTaranjitS. The Navy Band has been connecting the @USNavy to our partner nations since 1925! #HappyHoli," US Navy Band tweeted.
 
 
 
The diplomatic and trade relations between India and the US have found prominence in recent months. Cooperation between the United States and India has improved in the face of increased Chinese activity in the Indian Ocean, Indo-Pacific. US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin, too, visited India earlier on March 19 on a three-day tour.
