I-T raids on places linked to Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena

Mumbai, March 02: The income tax department on Wednesday conducted a raid at the premises of the serval Bollywood celebrities. According to the IT department, the department conducted searches against production houses and event management companies linked to actress Taapsee Pannu, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl, and Madhu Mantena.

The searches are part of a tax evasion probe and conducted at about 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune. Some executives of celebrity and talent management company KWAN are also being raided.

 

 

According to the IT officer, the premises of production company Phantom Films and an event management company associated with the filmmakers have been searched since this morning.

 

It should be noted that Phantom was formed by Kashyap, Bahl, Mantena, and Vikramaditya Motwane. The company was dissolved in 2018 after assault allegations against Bahl by a former Phantom employee.

 

Talking about the raids, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "The Income Tax department probes someone based on whatever information they get. The issue goes to court later,"
