India will be up against New Zealand in WTC finals that will take place in June. Both Akshar and Ashwin finished the match with respective five-wicket hauls.

Earlier in the day, Washington Sundar kicked-off the proceedings along with Axar from the overnight score of 294/7. The pair added 106 runs for the 8th wicket, helping the hosts gain a formidable position in the contest. However, after a run out of Akshar Patel, India lost the remaining three batsmen in the span of four wickets.

Washington completed his third half-century in the traditional format of the game but fell shy of four runs from notching his maiden ton in Tests. Apart from him, Rishabh Pant (101) were the top scorers while Rohit Sharma and Axar made useful contributions of 49 and 43 each.

The turn of the event started in the post-lunch session as skipper Virat Kohli brought spinner - Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel - from both ends. Both of them picked up five-wicket haul each to bundle out the English batsmen.
