MP CM Chouhan releases Rs 52 crore for 52 districts to curb COVID-19

Bhopal, April 14: With an aim to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic in the state, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has released an amount of Rs 52 crore for 52 districts of the state. An amount of Rs 1 crore from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to each district has been released for the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The positivity rate in the state stands at 19.3 percent. The amount will be utilized in the purchase of necessary equipment, provision of food and clothes in rehabilitation camps, operation of medical camps.
 
 
An interdepartmental committee will be set up under the chairmanship of the District Collector in relation to the expenditure made available from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. This committee will be able to test, supervise and approve the expenditure incurred for the prevention of COVID-19.

Arrangements regarding adequate staffing in all the hospitals are also being made. Chouhan directed health department officials that the retirement period of doctors, paramedical staff should be extended and those who have retired, if they wish, should be kept on contract.
