Major push to Ladakh infrastructure! Centre approves Rs 780 crore project for up-gradation of Kargil Zanskar road

New Delhi, April 02: With an aim to empower the infrastructures in the Ladakh region, Nitin Gadkari-led Road Transport & Highway ministry has approved Rs 780 Crore project for up-gradation of Kargil Zanskar road. According to the press release, the 2 lanes Kargil Zanskar NH 301 road is sanctioned under Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari approved the up-gradation of the 780 Crore project. He made the announcement via social media platforms. It should be noted that Zanskar- Kargil road was declared National Highway in 2017 by the Centre.
 
 
 
This will provide a crucial link to the Kargil region. These road plays connect Kashmir to the Kargil. This road from Zanskar valley, also connects Suru valley, Sankoo valley of Kargil Ladakh with the Highway. The road has strategic importance from the military point of view. The also road will be a key for the economic development of the remote region of Ladakh.
 
 
 
Reacting to the announcement, MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyail said, Modi government is fulfilling the major assurances given to Ladakh.
