Free vaccination for all above 18! UP CM Yogi Adityanath announces state's new vaccination policy

Lucknow, Apr 21: The UP govt, along with Assam govt, have decided to provide free vaccines to all from the age of 18 to 45 years. Uttar Pradesh government has decided to administer COVID vaccine free of cost to all those above 18 years of age from May 1, that marks the beginning of the third phase of vaccination process.

The decision was taken at cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Cabinet also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for opening up vaccination for all above 18 years of age. The statement issued after cabinet meeting said that the state government will take forward the vaccination programme with its own resources.
 
 
 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the PM's decision will help in better management of COVID and massive vaccination will help in defeating coronavirus. At the same time, Assam Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Centre is giving free vaccines to above 45 years and that the Assam government has decided to give free vaccines to all from 18 to 45 years. He said that, funds collected under Assam Arogya Nidhi last year to be utilized to procure vaccines.
