New Delhi, April 24: Criticising Arvind Kejriwal-led government, Delhi High Court pulled up Delhi Govt for not arranging tankers to collect oxygen saying, "You think everything will be served at your doorsteps."

During the hearing, the petition was filed by Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, citing oxygen shortage, Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rekha Palli reprimanded the Delhi govt. The court said, "The problem is you think allocation is done so everything will be served at your doorstep but, that's not how it works. After allocation have you made any effort for the tankers to collect oxygen?"

The HC asked the Kejriwal govt, to take systematic steps for procuring cryogenic tanks for Oxygen supply and make adequate security arrangements for their movement to various Covid-19 hospitals in the city.

It has further asked the nodal officers and authorities to speak with the suppliers. "It's not that you will just write and keep waiting. What is the nodal office doing? You had to speak to the suppliers in the last three days. You knew where the supply was coming from. Get in touch with the suppliers. We cannot help you at every moment," the Bench told Delhi government.

Court slammed advocate Rahul Mehra, representing the Delhi Government, said that other states were taking steps to ensure the smooth supply of oxygen, so there is no reason that the Delhi Government could not. The court said, “Every state is arranging its tankers, if you’re not having your tanks, arrange them. You will have to do it, get in touch with the Central govt officers. We are not here to facilitate contact between officers.”

The court also directed the oxygen suppliers to share complete information with the Delhi government about their supply to hospitals, the timing, and quantity. The Centre earlier told the court that the railways are ready to start the transport of oxygen to Delhi from distant plants as soon as tankers are made available.
