Telangana goes under 10 days lockdown; gives 4 hours of relaxation

Hyderabad, May 11: After Telangana recorded an alarming rate of covid cases, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao led the Telangana govt imposed a complete lockdown in the state to break the chain of the virus. According to the announcement, the state will go under lockdown from 12 to 22 May.

 

 

The lockdown will be relaxed from 6 am to 10 am daily for all the activities. However, only essential activities will be allowed in the state, the Telangana chief minister's office (CMO) said. Moreover, the complete guidelines regarding the Telangana lockdown will be issued shortly.

 

 

"The State Cabinet has decided to impose #lockdown for 10 days starting 10 am tomorrow. The lockdown will be relaxed from 6 am to 10 am daily for all the activities. The Council of Ministers has also decided to invite global tenders for procuring #Covid19 vaccine", a tweet from the Chief Minister's Office said. This decision was taken in the high-level meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, to ramp up the vaccinations in the state, the government has also decided to invite global tenders for vaccines. Notably, the development comes days after the Telangana government said that it will not impose a lockdown partial or total to contain the spread of coronavirus, as it will lead to the collapse of the financial system in the state.

 

Apart from Telangana, Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Uttarakhand, Puducherry, Maharashtra and, Jharkhand has also imposed the lockdown in their respective states.
