Suriya’s ‘Soorarai Pottru’ enters in Shanghai International Film Festival, becomes third most rated film

Chennai, May 14: After making its impression in the Oscars library, actor Suriya’s critically acclaimed movie Soorarai Pottru has become the world sensation again! The movie has been selected in the Panorama Section of Shanghai International Film Festival 2021.
Rajsekar Pandian, one of the producers of 2D Entertainment gave the information about it. The film festival is scheduled to be held from June 12 to 15 this year in Shanghai.
Directed by Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru is based on Simply Fly, the biography of Captain GR Gopinath, who is the founder of Air Deccan. The film stars actors Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Krishna Kumar, Urvashi, Karunas, and Paresh Rawal among others in pivotal roles. The film has music by composer GV Prakash. GV Prakash Kumar has scored the music, and his energetic music made the film more powerful.
It was selected as one among ten Indian films to be screened under the Best Foreign Film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards. The film took the OTT route due to the pandemic and is now available for viewing on Amazon Prime. The film has received a rating of 9.1 in IMDB. The film has now become the third most-rated movie in the world on IMDB.
