"He was found in Dominica. He may have entered the island illegally, possibly by boat. The Dominican government is cooperating with the Antiguan and Indian governments. We have requested Dominican law enforcement agencies to not return him to Antigua where he has legal and constitutional rights as a citizen. We specifically requested them to have Indian law enforcement agencies make necessary arrangements to have him returned directly to India," Browne told the news agency.

CBI sources in New Delhi said that he was captured based on the Yellow notice issued by Interpol earlier. A Yellow Notice is issued by Interpol to track missing persons.

According to some reports, the Dominican government could repatriate Choski in 48 hours. Fugitive Choksi is wanted by Indian authorities in the Rs 14,000-crore Punjab National Bank fraud case and had fled to the country in 2018, with India seeking to extradite him. He went missing on Sunday from Antigua and a manhunt was launched by the Antigua police.
