Calling it an act of vengeance, Adhikari shared the visuals of stone pelting at his car with people chasing it as far as possible. Adhikari in his Tweet said, “Despicable attempt to create an atmosphere of vengeance and violence in West Bengal! This evening in Haldia goons from the @AITCofficial targeted my car and attempted to attack my vehicle. If public representatives face such attacks, imagine the fate & plight of the Common Man!”

There were also shocking visuals of the aftermath of the attack on Suvendu Adhikari’s car. TMC goons heckling and attacking the media while the police acted as a mere spectator.

The neck-and-neck fight in the coveted Nandigram assembly constituency finally ended late Sunday night with BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari defeating Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee by 1,956 votes.

"My sincere thanks to the great people of Nandigram for their love, trust, blessings, and support, and for choosing me as their representative and the MLA from Nandigram. It is my never-ending commitment to be of service to them and working for their welfare. I am truly grateful," he tweeted.

The electoral battle in Nandigram was arguably the most coveted of all electoral battles in West Bengal this time. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee moved from her traditional Bhabanipur seat to Nandigram, where she was challenged by her former close aide Suvendu Adhikari, who is a local and BJP candidate from the seat.

However, the violence was not limited to this. The TMC goons celebrated this victory by unleashing violence especially on BJP karyakartas and its leaders. A BJP karyakarta’s house was attacked ferociously in Kasba by TMC goons as clearly visible in the video. A BJP party office in Arambagh was set on fire allegedly by the TMC goons. The TMC however as expected denied any responsibility for the violence.
