CBI added that the probe was still underway and that all angles were still being looked into. In the issues statement, CBI said, “CBI investigation related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput is continuing and all the aspects of the case are being looked into meticulously."

“Wrong to say we have closed the Sushant Singh Rajput case. The investigation is still on and we are probing all angles,” CBI added.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mont Blanc residence in Mumbai’s Bandra on June 14 last year. The Mumbai Police that was initially investigating the case termed it as ‘suicide.’ However, things changed after the late actor's father, KK Singh filed an FIR against Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family in Bihar. Following the FIR and the tussle between the Bihar police and Maharashtra police, the Bihar govt urged the central govt to transfer the SSR case to CBI.

Last year, Supreme Court directed the CBI to carry out a probe in connection to his death. After the CBI registered the FIR, a case was lodged by the ED against Rhea to look into the money-laundering angle.

The CBI officials then conducted the questioning of Rhea and the other accused in August. They also recreated the scene of the death with Sushant’s staff, along with forensic and medical teams.

Apart from the CBI, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have been probing the drug case and the money-laundering case connected to the SSR death case. Rhea was earlier arrested by the NCB in the same drug case. She was kept under judicial custody for around a month. Both Rhea and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, are currently out on a bail.
