Tamil Nadu CM meets PM Modi; asks to allot vaccines, drop NEET

New Delhi, June 18: As a part of his first official visit to Delhi, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to scrap all national level entrance tests like National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
 
He also discussed serval topics like the withdrawal of 3 agricultural laws and submitted a long list of demands for the state including, a request for more COVID-19 vaccines. He also asked the PM to drop hydrocarbon and neutrino projects planned for the state.

During a briefing about the meeting with PM Modi, MK Stalin said that his meeting with the PM was satisfactory. He further informed that PM Modi also assured cooperation for the state's development. "The meeting with PM Modi was satisfactory. The Prime Minister assured cooperation and assistance to the state for development. He also assured me that I can contact him at any time regarding the issues of Tamil Nadu," Stalin said.
 
 
Stalin further said, "issues like withdrawal of 3 agricultural laws, scrapping of NEET and New Education Policy, early commencement of vaccine production of Chengalpattu complex, and revival of Sethusamudram project were also raised by me during the meeting with PM Modi." MK Stalin also urged PM Modi to grant citizenship to Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka.
 
Besides, CM also demanded early commencement of vaccine production at HLL Biotech in Chengalpet and Pasteur Institute in Coonoor to overcome vaccine shortage. The Chief Minister also asked for the speedy construction of AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) in Madurai and the setting up of an AIIMS campus in Coimbatore.
 
CM Stalin discussed Phase 2 of the Chennai Metro Rail project, multiple highway expansion projects in Tamil Nadu among other things. He also sought the expansion of the Thoothukudi Port and Sethusamudram Ship canal project.
