It is worth to be noted that the Mughal emperor Jahangir, an Islamic Fanatic, was the son of Akbar. He ruled the empire from 1605 AD to 1627 AD. He was responsible for the imprisonment and killing of the fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Dev Ji. In the year 1606, the fifth Sikh guru, Guru Arjan Dev, was captured by Mughal Emperor Jahangir and imprisoned in Lahore Fort. After imprisoning the guru, Jahangir asked Guru Arjan Dev Ji to eliminate some parts from the Adi Granth. However, the guru refused to omit anything from the Granth, following which, Jahangir ordered him to be tortured and sentenced to death. Following the order, Guru Arjan Singh was tortured to death by making him sit on a burning sheet while boiling hot sand was poured from the top.

Demolishing Temples for the sake of Islam

In his biography 'Tuzuk-I-Jahangiri', Jahangir himself has revealed how anti-Hindu Islamic Fanatic he was just like other Mughal Rulers. On page no 254, he has described how he offered to demolish a Varaha Temple situated in Pushkar in Rajasthan.

In his own words – “I went to see that temple. I found a form cut out of black stone, which from the neck above was in the shape of a pig’s head, and the rest of the body was like that of a man. The worthless religion of the Hindus is this, that once on a time for some particular object the Supreme Ruler thought it necessary to show himself in this shape; on this account they hold it dear and worship it. I ordered them to break that hideous form and throw it into the tank”.

Taimur
Saif named his 1st son Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi after a Turco-Mongol conqueror - Timur. The conqueror had destroyed temples of India, killed millions of Hindus. He had not only massacred millions of Hindus, but he had also humiliated the Indic culture in his autobiography.

He chose to name their child after a man, who in his memoir said, “My object in the invasions of Hindustan is to lead a campaign against the infidels, to convert them to the true faith according to the command of Muhammad (on whom and his family be the blessing and peace of God), to purify the land from the defilement of misbelief and polytheism, and overthrow the temples and idols, whereby we shall be Ghazis and Mujahids, companions and soldiers of the faith before God is their choice."

Justifying his son's name, he had said it is not Timur it's Taimur adding that both are not similar and Turco-Mongol conqueror was just a little violent and violence was the work of a general. In the same interview, Saif said that he cannot “realistically name his son Ram.”
