Kabul, August 16: On Sunday, the Afghanistan Government surrendered before the Islamic terrorists as Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani left the country and fled to Tajikistan after the Taliban wrested control over the capital of Afghanistan.

The head of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah, confirmed the news through a video posted on Facebook. Taking to his official Facebook account, Ghani said he was faced with a 'hard choice' between the 'armed Taliban' or 'leaving the dear country that he has dedicated his life to protecting the past 20 years.
 
He wrote, "If left unchecked, countless patriots would be martyred and the city of Kabul would be devastated, resulting in a major humanitarian catastrophe in the six-million-strong city."
 
 
Soon after taking control over Kabul, the Taliban declared the war in Afghanistan was over. "The war in Afghanistan is over. We are ready to have a dialogue with all Afghan figures and will guarantee them the necessary protection. We do not think that foreign forces will repeat their failed experience in Afghanistan once again," Spokesman for the Taliban's political office, Mohammad Naeem said.
 
Taliban deputy leader Mullah Baradar said the victory was 'unexpectedly swift and had no match in the world'.
 
Mullah Abdul Ghani Barada to likely to become the new Afghanistan President
 
As per the source, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the co-founder of the insurgent group is likely to become the new President of the country. Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s political head, was arrested in Pakistan in 2010. He was freed from a Pakistani jail on the request of the US less than three years ago and was relocated to Qatar.
 
 
 
 
Meanwhile, scores of people rushed to the Kabul airport to leave Afghanistan.
 

UN Chief Antonio Guterres expressed the deep concern, to hold an emergency meeting
 
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged the Taliban and all other parties to exercise the utmost restraint and expressed particular concern about the future of women and girls in Afghanistan.
  
The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Afghanistan's situation on Monday morning at the request of Estonia and Norway. Council diplomats said Sunday that UN Secretary-General Guterres will brief council members on the latest situation following the Taliban takeover of the capital, Kabul. 
 
Taliban has ruled Afghanistan from 1996 until the post 9/11 attacks US-led invasion in late 2001. In 1994 Mullah Mohammad Omar founded the Taliban with 50 students. On September 27, 1996, they established the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Mullah Omar was declared amir al-mu’minin, or “commander of the faithful.”
