Afghan crisis: EAM Jaishankar meets his Qatari counterpart, discusses Kabul situation

Doha, August 21: Amid the ongoing situation in Afghanistan, External affairs minister S Jaishankar met his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani during his stopover at Doha.

 

 

During the meeting, both the leaders discuss the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar said "Met Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani during my stopover in Doha. Had useful exchange of views on Afghanistan."

 

 

Their meeting came a day after the Jaishankar chaired a high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) earlier this week.

 

It is worth to be noted that Doha has been the venue for the intra-Afghan peace talks. Qatar also has been emerged as a crucial player in facilitating the Afghan peace process.
