VP launches ‘Vaccinate India Programme’, says vaccine is most effective shield against Covid 19.

Bengaluru, August 24: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday, launched the Vaccinate India Programme in Bengaluru. It aims at educating the masses about the necessity to vaccinate and clear misconceptions.

The event was held in Raj Bhavan today in the presence of Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai, Health Minister Dr. K Sudhakar, and Member of Parliament P C Mohan. The programme is organised by the Planning, Programme Implementation, and Statistics department along with the Sustainable Goals centre and the Give India Foundation.
 
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said that the vaccine is the most effective shield against Covid 19. The Vice President said that it is necessary to educate and create awareness about the safety and importance of getting vaccinated especially among those harboring doubts. Though the recovery rate has improved and the number of infections has substantially declined, the Vice President stressed that there is absolutely no room for complacency and we cannot lower our guard.
 
 
The Vaccinate India program aims at educating the masses on the importance of vaccination, removing misconceptions, and laying emphasis on following Covid protocol to mitigate the pandemic.
 
Speaking during the launch event today, the Chief Minister said that the deprived sections of the society must be given the vaccine first. He called upon the private sector and philanthropists to come forward to organise vaccination camps for such persons.
 
 
He informed that every day around four lakh persons are being vaccinated now in the state and in September the goal is to vaccinate five lakh persons every day. He said that the state is expected to receive 1.5 crore doses of vaccine soon from the Central Government.
