India express 'great concern' over Kabul, hopes its territory is not used by terror groups like JeM

New Delhi, August 25: Noting the current situation of Afghanistan, India during the special session of the UN human Council, expressed great concern over it and hopes that it does not pose a challenge to its neighboring country.
 
India's permanent representative to the UN, Indramani Pandey said, that it hopes that the territory of Afghanistan, which was taken over by the Talibani, is not being used by the terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) to threaten any other country.

Pandey also asserted that a "grave" humanitarian crisis is unfolding in the country and everyone is concerned about the increasing violations of fundamental rights of the Afghan people. He said, "Everyone is concerned about increasing violations of fundamental rights of Afghan citizens. Afghans are worried about whether their right to live with dignity would be respected."
 
 
"Stability in Afghanistan is linked to the peace and security in the region. We hope the situation in Afghanistan does not pose a challenge to its neighbors and territory of Afghanistan is not allowed to be used by terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) to threaten any other country," Pandey said at the UNHRC session.
 
 
 
The Permanent Representative of India to the UN also mentioned that the country hopes the situation in Afghanistan returns to normalcy soon and the rights of Afghan women, minorities, and the aspirations of Afghan children are respected. "We also hope that there is an inclusive and broad-based dispensation which represents all sections of Afghan society. Voices of Afghan women, aspirations of Afghan children, and the rights of minorities must be respected," Pandey added.
 
 
 
India is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving security situation in Afghanistan and will continue to call upon parties concerned to maintain law and order, ensure the safety and security of all Afghan nationals, UN personnel, and diplomatic staff members, Pandey concluded.
