According to the source, all the four special units of the investigating agency tasked to probe the cases of violence have moved their units from Kolkata to crime scenes across the state. There are some reports which also suggested that CBI is also going to file more cases in this matter.

CBI took over the probe after the Calcutta High Court ordered a court-monitored CBI probe into the incidents of post-poll violence in West Bengal.

The High Court also ordered to set up Special Investigation Teams (SIT) for investigation of relatively less serious crimes and senior officers from West Bengal cadre will be a part of the team. The court ordered the investigation after reviewing the report of the NHRC committee.

The court has asked both the agencies to submit their report within six weeks.
