Bengaluru, August 01: Action upon intelligence input suggesting about terrorist activities in coastal Kerala, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has issued s high alert has in the coastal areas of Karnataka on Wednesday. He also said that the state administration is keeping a strict watch for any suspicious activity.

Interacting with media at the Hubli Airport before his departure for his assembly constituency Shiggaon, the Chief Minister said the state administration is keeping a strict watch for any suspicious activity in the coastal and adjoining forest areas.
 
"I can not discuss some issues openly, but I want to tell you that Karnataka police along with NIA is keeping a strict vigil on any anti-national activity in coastal and adjoining forest areas. NIA had also picked up a person who was involved in such activities. We have also issued a high alert has in coastal areas," said the Chief Minister.

As per the reports, the terrorist has sneaked on mechanized boats from Sri Lanka, have entered the coastal part of Kerala. The report suggests that at least 12 terrorists have landed on Indian Shores.
 
Following the tip-off, Coast Guard and coastal police units have been put on high alert. They are asked to increase the frequency of patrol on the sea.
 
 
Additionally, fishermen and locals have been also alerted about the development. They have been asked to report any suspicious activities to authorities immediately. Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are also put on high alert.
