The 23-year-old star javelin thrower took to Twitter to share pictures in which he can be seen boarding a plane with his parents. "A small dream of mine came true today as I was able to take my parents on their first flight," Neeraj captioned the images on Twitter.

Furthermore, he added,”Sabhi ke dua aur Ashirwad ke liya humesha aabhari rahunga. (I will always be grateful for the prayers and blessings of everyone.)”

Chopra, along with his parents Satish Kumar and Saroj Devi, was on his way to an event organised by his promoter JSW Sports at the Inspire Institute of Sports (IIS) in Bellary, Karnataka.

Besides Chopra and his parents, his coach and German biomechanics expert Klaus Bartonietz and Olympian super heavyweight boxer Satish Kumar were also seen seated inside the aircraft.

Chopra had created history when he won India's maiden Olympic gold in athletics, in men's javelin throw, at the recently-concluded Games in Tokyo. During the finals, Chopra scored a whopping 87.03 metres in the first throw and 87.58 metres in the second. His second throw was enough to win him the Olympic Gold. With Chopra’s medal, India has registered its highest medal tally in the Olympics ever.
