IT Department raids properties linked to Sonu Sood

New Delhi, September 16: Income tax department officials raided at least 6 properties in Mumbai and Lucknow linked to Bollywood Sonu Sood on Wednesday evening. 

Besides the actor's house, his financial details were surveyed by the department. As per the source, IT department's raid began on Wednesday morning and continued till at least 7 pm. Reports suggest that the survey operation has been initiated on allegations of tax evasion on this deal. A real estate pact is also being probed, said reports.

Recently, the Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, declared that Sood will be the brand ambassador of the Aam Aadmi Party government's 'Desh ka mentors' program under which students will be guided in making their career choices.

 

This is not the first time Sonu Sood has been raided. He was among Bollywood personalities raided in 2012 over alleged tax evasion.

Earlier, the actor was in trouble with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation over the allegation of carrying out illegal construction in a residential building that he had converted into a hotel without permission. In an affidavit submitted in Bombay High Court, the BMC had called him a habitual offender.
