New Delhi, Sept 17: Amid the farmers' protest, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and briefed him on the farmers' protest and the Karnal incident. He also invited the Prime Minister to the state for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor.

Speaking to reporters after meeting PM Modi, Khattar said, "I briefed the PM on new initiatives and schemes introduced in the state. I also briefed him on the farmers' protest and the incident that occurred in Karnal. I have invited him to the state for the foundation stone laying of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor."
 
 
Khattar also told reporters that the project is being built at a cost of Rs 5,600 crores and all the approvals for the project have been completed. He also extended birthday greetings to the Prime Minister on the eve of his birthday and told him that the state unit of the BJP will be devoting this day to service and dedication.

The CM's meeting with PM Modi comes amid the ongoing farmers' protest against the three farm laws during which they blocked the National Highway-44 at the Singhu border.
 
In order to make peace with farmers, the Haryana government formed a special committee to talk with the farmers about removing the blockade at National Highway-44 at the Singhu border. The committee was formed after a high-level meeting held by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Farmers have been protesting at various sites since November 26 last year against the three newly enacted farm laws. The Centre and farmer leaders have also held several rounds of talks but the impasse remains. Several elements including Opposition leaders misleading the farmers, external factors are involved to spread lies and myths about the farm laws.
