India sets new World Record! Administers 2.5 cr. Covid doses on PM Modi's birthday

New Delhi, September 18: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's, India broke its daily COVID-19 vaccination record, and set a new record by administering over 2.5 Cr. doses of the Covid-19 Vaccine in a single day.
 
Notably, this is the first time that 2.5 crore doses have been administered in a single day. With this remarkable feat, India has administered over 79 crore doses till now.

Besides that India has also surpassed the average daily covid vaccination rate of 18 major countries. The 18 nations, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Russia, have together administered 8.54 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines while India alone administered 8.54 million doses. According to the COWIN, 17 lakh doses were administered per hour, 28,000 doses per minute, and 466 doses per second.
 
 
The BJP has sought to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on Friday historic by administering a record Covid-19 vaccine doses. Out of all states, Karnataka topped the ongoing vaccination drive against coronavirus with over 26.9 lakh doses, followed by Bihar (over 26.6 lakh doses), Uttar Pradesh (over 24.8 lakh doses), Madhya Pradesh (over 23.7 lakh doses), and Gujarat (over 20.4 lakh doses).
 
 
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also celebrated the record vaccinations with the health workers at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Mandaviya said that the historic feat is a gift to PM Modi on behalf of the health workers and the countrymen.
 
 
 
The Union Health Ministry further hopes to reach the landmark of 100 crore vaccination by the first week of October, coinciding again with Modi's 20th year at public office.
 
Acknowledging the historic feat, the PM said, “Every Indian would be proud of today’s record vaccination numbers.”
 
 
“I acknowledge our doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, healthcare, and all front-line workers who have toiled to make the vaccination drive a success. Let us keep boosting vaccination to defeat COVID-19,” he said in his tweet.
