Bengaluru, September 20: In the major development, Central Crime Branch (CCB) unearthed a major espionage racket and arrested a suspect, from Jolly Mohalla, Cottonpet, for allegedly leaking sensitive information to Pakistan's spy agency ISI Inter-Services Intelligence.

The accused has been identified as Jitender Singh, who was in touch with an officer of Pakistan's spy agency ISI over Whatsapp. The man, who was impersonating an Army officer, had been sending crucial Army secrets to the ISI officer.
 
On information from Military Intelligence, the CCB arrested one accused of taking photographs of vital installations, defense establishments, and sharing with foreign agencies, said the Central Crime Branch, Bengaluru in a statement. Southern Command Military Intelligence and the CCB arrested one Jitender Singh for impersonating as an Army officer. He was in communication with a Pakistan based ISI officer over Whatsapp, the agency said.
 
 
He was also in possession of a Captain's uniform with which he used to impersonate as an Army officer to carry out these tasks. He was providing photographs of the Barmer military station and reported all military vehicle's movement from that area to that ISI operative, said police.
 
 
 
The accused, a resident of Rajasthan, took photos of visa installations and defense establishments and shared them with foreign agencies, as per the information shared by the Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil. It further stated that the accused had shared photos, details of the Army area and carried out reconnaissance of Army posts near the International Border (IB). A case registered under Official Secrets Act and Indian Penal Code, the agency added. "
 
 
The probe has also revealed that Singh was providing photographs of the Barmer military station and reported all military vehicles' movement from that area to the ISI officer.
