Mumbai, September 20: The Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad / ATS, on Saturday, produced Zakir Hussain Shaikh before Mumbai Special Court, which send him into custody till Monday, in connection with a terror plot recently busted by Delhi Police Special Case.

The ATS Squad arrested one more person in connection with the Pakistan-supported terror module busted by Delhi Police. The man’s identity wasn’t let out by ATS but he was said to be nabbed from Mumbra town in Thane district on Saturday night.
 
After information received about him from Zakir Hussain Shaikh (45), an accused who was arrested by the ATS from Jogeshwari in Mumbai on Friday, he said.
 
The ATS told a Mumbai court on Saturday that Zakir Shaikh was arrested in connection with a criminal conspiracy to carry out terror attacks using explosives in Maharashtra.
 
 
 
He was in touch with an 'Anthony' from a "neighbouring country", and the ATS wanted to find out who was this person and what was his role in the conspiracy, it had said.
 
A joint team of the ATS and Mumbai Police Crime Branch has taken the man into custody from the Jogeshwari region in the city. The suspect Zakir, is suspected to be having an important link with the terror module.

Maharashtra ATS said that he had asked the arrested terrorist Jaan Mohammad alias Sameer Kalia to bring arms and explosives into Mumbai.
 
The Government Railway Police / GRP in Mumbai has increased the security at all the major railway stations in the city.
 
According to the GRP, a few of the entry and exit point routes too, have now been closed.

The GRP Commissioner Kaiser Khalid said, “We keep getting such alerts from time to time especially for the local trains. We take every alert seriously. We take steps for the safety of our passengers accordingly.”
 
The checking of parcels and movement of people has been increased as well. The GRP has also started doing mock drills at stations and also deployed additional police force at major railway stations.
