Kalinga Rights Forum writes to HMO, CBDT; Seeks enquiry into Saket Gokhale's illegal funds raised

The Kalinga Rights Forum on Tuesday wrote to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Central Board of Direct Taxes complaining about the tax evasion by AITC's Saket Gokhale and sought multi agency enquiry into his fundings. This is after Saket Gokhale raised Rs 48, 29,145 using ourdemocracy.in crowdfunding website.

 

 

"Saket Gokhale has been running various illegal money collection campaigns using crowd funding website Ourdemocracy which a platform that is often used by anti India elements. Recently, it was also used to carry out Shaheen Bagh Protests and Delhi Riots sharing links to social media Platforms to collect money illegally from all over the world directly into its bank account", the statement read.

 

 

 

 

As defined in Section 3(1) of FCRA, 2010, the following are prohibited to receive foreign contribution: (a) candidate for election; (b) correspondent, columnist, cartoonist, editor, owner, printer or publisher of a registered newspaper; (c) Judge, Government servant or employee of any corporation or any other body controlled or owned by the Government; (d) member of any legislature; (e) political party or office bearer thereof; (f) organization of a political nature as may be specified under sub-section (1) of Section 5 by the Central Government. (g) association or company engaged in the production or broadcast of audio news or audio visual news or current affairs programmes through any electronic mode, or any other electronic form as defined in clause (r) of sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any other mode of mass communication; (h) correspondent or columnist, cartoonist, editor, owner of the association or company referred to in point (g) (i) Individuals or associations who have been prohibited from receiving foreign contribution.

 

 

"He has also been using RAZORPAY, a Payment gateway to collect money as an alternative way to support in various anti-government activities causing disaffection and misinformation among common citizens of India", it added. It is reported that ourdemocracy.in website is often used to launder illegal money, medicines. Using Ourdemocracy.in, Gokhale has till now raised Rs 4,829,145 illegally directly violating FCRA laws as well multiple violations of Tax evasions.
