Major crackdown! J&K govt sacks 6 employees over terror links

In July 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir administration had dismissed 11 government employees for their alleged involvement in terror-funding activities.

Srinagar, September 23: Showing the zero-tolerance policy against govt employees involved in anti-India activities, Jammu and Kashmir administration sacked six of its employees including two cops, for having terror links and working as overground workers for the terrorist groups.
 
Jaffer Hussain Butt, Mohd. Rafi Butt, Abdul Hamid Wani, Liyaqat Ali Kakroo, Tariq Mehmood Kohli, Showkat Ahmad Khan are the names of the six government employees.

A designated committee was formed in Jammu and Kashmir for scrutinising the government employees and recommending the cases calling for the removal from government jobs. The committee recommended the dismissal of six employees for their terrorist links.
 
 
 
The government initiated the steps after a designated committee in the Union territory mandated to scrutinise cases under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution recommended the removal of the six employees from government service over terror links.
 
This provision gives the government the power to sack employees without an inquiry if "the President or the Governor, as the case may be, is satisfied that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold such inquiry".
 
 
"...the Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India that in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry in the case of... Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor hereby dismisses... from service, with immediate effect," the order said mentioning the name of each sacked employee.
 
This is not the first time, in July 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir administration had dismissed 11 government employees for their alleged involvement in terror-funding activities.
