New Delhi, September 03: As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, States/UTs conducted Entitlement Awareness Week to make workers aware about their rights and entitlements under the Mahatma Gandhi NREG Act.
The week was observed in between 27th August to 2nd September, 2021. The Mahatma Gandhi NREGA provides a number of legal entitlements to job seekers through provisions in the Act.
Several initiatives have been taken by the States/UTs to make sure the Entitlements are accessible to the public. States/UTs coordinated different activities in their respective districts, blocks and also gram panchayats.

To facilitate the workers, Gram Sabhas were conducted at the Gram Panchayat Bhawans in several districts. Some of these districts reached out to the workers at work-sites. MGNREGA beneficiaries, functionaries and officials from States/UTs have also participated with a lot of enthusiasm. These entitlements awareness drives will enable beneficiaries to gain maximum advantage from the MGNREG Scheme.
