Jaipur, September 30: PM Modi inaugurated the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Technology / CIPET in Jaipur, Rajasthan today through video conference. He also laid the foundation stone of four new medical colleges in Banswara, Sirohi, Hanumangarh & Dausa districts of Rajasthan , at 11 AM, also through video-conferencing.
According to a statement issued by the PM’s Office on Wednesday, these colleges have been sanctioned under centrally sponsored scheme for “establishment of new medical colleges attached with district / referral hospitals.”
Om Birla, Lok Sabha speaker, who was also present at the occasion said, “The four medical colleges in Rajasthan will help in the development of the health and infrastructure in the tribal areas of Rajasthan.”
Preference to set up medical colleges is given to underserved, backward and Aspirational Districts. Under three phases of the Scheme, 157 new medical colleges have been approved across the nation.

Cipet: The Government of Rajasthan, along with the Government of India has established CIPET: Institute of Petrochemicals Technology, Jaipur. CIPET is self-sustainable and dedicatedly serves the needs of the petrochemical and the allied industries. This is to provide education to the youth to go on to become skilled technical professionals.
Union Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya and Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot too, were present on this occasion.
