NIA files charge sheet against 13 Bangladeshi nationals accused in human trafficking

The charge sheet has been filed before a Special Court in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru, September 07: Taking action against the Bangladeshi nationals involving in Bengaluru human trafficking case, National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a charge sheet against 13 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. The charge sheet has been filed before a Special Court in Bengaluru.

In its statement, NIA said that the accused, namely, Rafik, Sobuj Shaik, Md Rafikdul Islam Ridoy, Rakibul Islam Ridoy, Md Babu Molla, and 8 others have been booked under sections 120B r/w 370, 120B r/w 370A (2), 343, 465, 469, 471 of the IPC, sections 14A (b) and 14C of the Foreigners act, 1946 sections 3, 4, 5, 6 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 in RC-16/2021/NIA/DLI.
 
 
The case was originally registered against the accused at Ramamurthy Nagar police station, on June 8, after police unearthed the racket while investigating a case of torture and gang rape of a Bangladeshi woman in Bengaluru. During Investigation police conducted a raid at a rented house at K Channasandra, Bengaluru, and rescued seven women and one child of Bangladeshi Nationality, and arrest four human traffickers.
 
 
 
As per the statement, NIA during the investigation found that all accused had illegally crossed over to India from Bangladesh, and they were luring women from Bangladesh and trafficking them to India with the promise of jobs.
 
The NIA official in the statement further said the women were then confined in rented accommodations and subjected to sexual exploitation. The accused had also forged identity cards and used these forged documents as genuine to obtain Indian identity cards such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card among others for themselves and their victims. The official added that further investigation in this case continues.
