PM Modi distributes Rs 20,000 cr under PM-KISAN scheme for farmer families across India

The PM also released equity grant of Rs. 14 crore to 351 Farmer Producer Organizations, which will benefit 1.24 lakh farmers

New Delhi, January 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released 10th instalment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme today via video conferencing. This enabled the transfer of an amount of more than Rs. 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.

The PM also released equity grant of more than Rs. 14 crore to about 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit more than 1.24 lakh farmers. Prime Minister interacted with FPOs during the event. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Ministers, LGs, Agriculture Ministers and farmers from several states were linked to the event.
 
 
Dedicating the programme to farmers, the PM said that the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has emerged as major support for Indian farmers and the government will continue to work for the benefit of farmers. Highlighting on natural farming, PM Modi said that a new way has been invented for conserving the lands in the country through chemical-free farming which will also help in the long run for coming generations.

The PM also outlined initiatives taken for benefit of the people including a boost in the economy rate, the development of several start-up companies, dedicating army schools to girls, and bringing more scope for women and girls in the defence sector. The PM-KISAN scheme was announced in 2019 with motive of providing a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year to all eligible farmer families in 3 payable instalments of Rs 2,000.
