Can Ind, Pak play a T20I series every year? PCB chief Ramiz Raja proposes 4-nation 'Super Series'

It is well-known fact that India and Pakistan face each other in either continental (Asia Cup) or global (ICC) tournaments. It was last year when both the teams met in the T20 World Cup. Apart from that, it has been over nine years since they took part in a bilateral series. Pakistan had toured India for three T20Is and as many ODIs in December 2012.
Amid all of this, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja on Tuesday, took to his official Twitter account to share his proposal for the resumption of cricket between both teams. The former cricketer has suggested an annual quadrangular ‘Super Series’ involving India, Pakistan, Australia, and England, which will be played in the shortest format of the game.

If hosting rights will be given to Pakistan, it might not go down well with other countries. It is because New Zealand and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had called off tours of Pakistan. Though the reasons were not specified, it was reported that they withdrew from cricket tournaments in Pakistan due to terror threats.
It should be noted that Pakistan is a no-go zone for international cricket teams for a decade after armed fighters attacked the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore in 2009. The ambush killed seven people and injured several Sri Lankan cricketers.
Besides, several ICC tournaments and other crucial events scheduled in the upcoming years, it can be difficult for PCB to lay out an annual chart for the proposed tournament.
