Kerala's ExMuslims organisation declares 9 January as ExMuslim day

In a major development, the ExMuslims of Kerala organisation has decided to celebrate January 9 as Kerala ExMuslim Day every year. This decision was made at a meeting in Kochi on January 9, 2022.

This significant development comes a year after, the debate between M M Akbar, an Islamic Dawah propagandist, and E A Jabbar, a freethinker, and critic of Islam, exposed the false narratives of radical Islamic preachers. Due to that, many Muslims in Kerala left Islam. Noting the importance of the day The leaders of the ex-Muslims of Kerala have decided to choose the same date as a milestone to observe as Kerala ex-Muslims Day hereafter. They decided to protect the basic rights and dignity of the people who quit Islam.
 
It should be noted that ex-Muslims of Kerala is the first formal organisation in India to be established for Muslims who are renouncing Islam. ExMuslims of Kerala is a team of Muslim intellectuals led by Liyakkathali, the President, and Jasla Madasserry, the Vice President.
