Lata Mangeshkar continues to be in ICU; doctors share health update

Mumbai, Jan 20 : Legendary singer and nightingale Lata Mangeshkar, who was hospitalised 10 days ago due to pneumonia and COVID 19, is still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and the doctor has expressed concern about her health. According to the senior journalist Rajat Sharma's tweet, the doctors say that she is currently fighting for her life in the ICU.

 

On January 8, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar tested positive for COVID-19. After experiencing mild symptoms, she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital.

 

Giving the latest update of Lata ji's health, Rajat Sharma tweeted, "लता दीदी के स्वास्थ्य को लेकर चिंता है. डॉक्टर कहते हैं कि वह इस वक्त आईसीयू में अपनी ज़िन्दगी के लिए संघर्ष कर रही हैं. ईश्वर से प्रार्थना है कि वह जल्द ठीक हो जाएं और घर वापस लौटें."

 

 

Dr. Pratit Samdani of the Breach Candy hospital has urged people to pray for her. "Lata Ji is still in ICU. We are trying our best to ensure she recovers soon. Pray for her recovery," he was quoted saying.

 

In her seven-decade-long singing career, Lata Mangeshkar has sung more than 30,000 songs in several Indian languages. She is considered one of the greatest playback singers in Indian cinema. Lata is also the recipient of three National Film Awards, 15 Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards, and many more. She is known for iconic songs like Yeh Kahan Aage Hain Hum, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya from Mughal-e-Azam, Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh from Dil Apna Aur Preet Para, Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo, and Lag Jaa Gale, among many others.
