The NCW had taken cognizance of one of the videos based on a Twitter post by BJP Yuva Morcha national secretary Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga and summoned the AAP leader for a hearing on Thursday.

It is pertinent to mention that two old videos of Italia went viral, one in which he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “neech” politics and uses a cuss word for his government.

Another is that he tells women that “temples and kathas (religious discourses) are breeding grounds of exploitation” where they would gain nothing, and advises mothers and daughters to avoid going to temples if they want development and to gain respect.

DCP southeast Esha Pandey said the AAP Gujarat chief was detained in connection with a protest at the NCW office staged by AAP workers over the summons. According to inputs shared by news agency ANI, Sharma said she told the Delhi Police that action should be taken against Italia as he was creating an atmosphere to impact the law and order, adding his supporters tried to enter the NCW office forcibly.
