Annamalai accuses intelligence department head Davidson Devasirvatham of having links with Christian missionaries

Making a shocking revelation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai said that Davidson Devasirvatham, who is the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) - Intelligence has close ties with Christian missionaries and is working with an agenda to promote Christianity in the southern districts of the state.

He also said that Devasirvatham handpicks officers who will help him fulfill his agenda and puts them in sensitive posts.
 
Regarding the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, he said that after the party has come to power, there is an effort to fill posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and above from officers of a particular community.
 
Annamalai had previously stated that the Coimbatore blast was a result of the failure of the state’s Intelligence Department to act on specific intelligence input. He also questioned the delay in handing over the probe to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
 
 
 
Speaking at length about Devasirvatham, Annamalai said that he suspected the hand of the Intelligence Department in the Lavanya suicide case in Thanjavur (Lavanya had written in her dying declaration that she was being forced to convert by nuns from her school).
 
He also recalled the ‘Passport Scam’ in which over 200 ineligible people, mostly Christians, were issued passports in Madurai, with the help of a Chennai based travel agency owned by Devasirvatham’s wife.
 
This happened during the tenure of Devasirvatham as Madurai Police Commissioner. While the High Court gave a clean chit to Devasirvatham, it commended Annamalai for bringing the scam to light.
