Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma released the German Edition of author Salil Gewali's book "Great Minds on India" in Shillong recently. The German version was prepared by Caroline Hagen of Germany.
 
Shillong, Non 18: Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma formally released the German edition of “Great Minds on India” authored by Salil Gewali in the presence of the Arts and Culture Minister Sanbor Shullai and other dignitaries recently.

The outcome of exhaustive research spanning over two decades, this title by the author Salil Gewali has already been translated so far into thirteen languages. The German edition of the book was translated by Caroline Hagen of Germany. Ms. Caroline first came across Gewali’s book at a Yoga center in 2018 in Cologne and got immediately drawn by the contents of the book, particularly by the quotes by Johann Goethe, Albert Einstein, Harman Hesse, and Arthur Schopenhauer on the Indian system of knowledge.

The translator, Ms. Caroline -- who is a Yoga enthusiast and also visited India, says - “I consider this effort of mine in translating the book into German as my humble tribute to ancient India. I do have high hopes that this publication will serve as a beacon to spread the real light of the knowledge of the East in the West.”

Apart from being appreciated worldwide, Gewali’s book was formally launched by the Governors and the Education Ministers of Maharashtra, Gujarat; Governors of Meghalaya and West Bengal and the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

The former Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani wrote about the book in his ‘special letter of commendation – “Gewali’s book will surely prove to be an asset to our youths, and the new generation to be inspired by the wisdom of our ancient literature.”

Governments of Punjab, Karnataka, and Assam have also highly appreciated Gewali’s book and consented to translate and publish the title in their respective states’ official languages such as -- Punjabi, Kannada, and Assamese.
