Mangaluru, December 09: The Mangaluru-based St Joseph Engineering College administration has suspended four engineering students from the college after wearing burqas while dancing to a Bollywood song at a college event. owever, the so-called radical Islamist were quick enough to spread fake news that those students were from Hindu community. However, all four students belong to the Muslim community.

The viral video has sparked a controversy on social media. Many criticised the college administration for granting permission for the dance.
 
Following this, the college administration took to Twitter and issued a statement regarding the matter. St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, tweeted from their official handle (@SJEC_Mangaluru) on Thursday and said: “The video clip being circulated in social media has captured a part of the dance by students of the Muslim community itself who barged on stage during the informal part of students association inaugural.
 
 
 
“It was not part of the approved program and the students involved have been suspended pending an enquiry. The college does not support or condone any activities that could harm the harmony between communities and everyone (sic).”
