Kejriwal: India's genocide denier

Arvind Kejriwal has started attacking Hindus and PM Modi, both the things he avoided for over 2 years. Is this a result of humongous Punjab victory or illusions of grandeur to project AAP as a national alternative.

On 24th of March 2022, Arvind Kejriwal perhaps made the biggest mistake of his life. For the first time since his defeat in 2019 Lok sabha election, he has angered the Hindus. This time he has made a cardinal error of hurting Hindus at the worst possible time. On that day, Kejriwal insulted the Kashmiri Hindus and their genocide by calling it, ‘Jhootha’ or fake.

kejriwal on Kashmir Files

This statement by the Delhi CM has not gone well at all around the country. All the Kashmiri Hindus and because of the movie, (the Kashmir files and the awakening that this movie has among the Hindu society) in the larger Hindu society is hurt by the irresponsible statement by Arvind Kejriwal. Many Kashmiri Hindus are saying that Bitta Karate killed us in the open and Kejriwal killed us in the Delhi assembly. Kejriwal’s reprehensible statement about the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus is evoking quite emotional as well as full proof responses from Hindus. Kejriwal has gotten away with his anti Hindu policies and ideology for almost a decade now. But it will be quite difficult for even someone like Kejriwal to get away from a blunder like this.

From the 2019 Lok Sabha elections when Kejriwal’s party was at third position in most of Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, he understood one thing and did not forget it till this moment. He understood it quite well that he can survive electorally by not being pro Hindu, but he can't survive being anti Hindu. Which is why from that defeat till this abominable statement he never insulted Hindus. In fact, he even went on a similar path like Rahul Gandhi of seeming to appease Hindus. As Rahul Gandhi did his temple hopping in 2017, Kejriwal started reciting Hanuman Chalisa in public. He announced a government sponsored ‘teerth yatra’ for senior citizens. Apart from that, he supported the abrogation of Article 370 in the parliament. He didn't oppose the Triple Talaq bill as well. All of this was coming from the same man who once supported the Tukde-Tukde gang, who asked for proofs about the Uri surgical strike and Balakot Air Strikes as well. He also opposed hoisting of tricolor in the universities. He also gave tickets to Delhi riot accused and known goons like Amanatullah Khan. Which is why it is difficult to believe that this same person had a genuine change of heart after the 2019 elections. Which means that it was his strategy to not hurt the Hindus and not be seen as anti Hindus. It did bode well for him, he swept the 2020 Delhi assembly elections and now has swept Punjab assembly elections as well.

Another thing which he avoided after 2019 is attacking PM Modi directly. He is the same man who attacked PM Modi in the most vicious manner possible. He called PM Modi a psychopath. He compared Modi to Hitler, several times. (which not so surprisingly Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan does as well.) After that devastating defeat of the 2019 elections, he took that lesson as well and stopped attacking Modi personally. But on the 24th of March, in that same speech, when he insulted Kashmiri Hindus, he compared Modi to Hitler again. This was his first direct attack on PM Modi after almost 3 years.

In Both these cases, he tried to avoid being seen as an anti Hidnu politician, as well as to avoid attacking PM Modi. Because unlike Rahul Gandhi he understood that he can no longer win elections anywhere in India by being Anti Hindu or by attacking PM Modi. Neither of these things were because of a change of heart.

Now, perhaps after the Punjab victory, perhaps because of the magnitude of victory in Punjab, Kejriwal is either being careless or forgetting what he learnt from the 2019 defeat. He has chosen to attack Hindus at the worst possible time on a worst possible issue. The Kashmir Files movie collected over 200 crores at the box office. It has evoked many emotions from the common Hindus, it has in a way awakened the Hindus about Kashmir Genocide issue. At that time Kejriwal has decided to attack that very same movie and that very same genocide. He has attacked Hindus when Hindus are all alert and awake as well as on the very same issue which made them alert and awake.

This attack from Arvind Kejriwal holds the potential to be the biggest mistake of his political career. Just like invading Russia was for Hitler or invading Afghanistan was for Soviet Union, attacking Kashmiri Hindus, mocking Kashmiri Hindu genocide and attacking the Kashmir files would prove to be detrimental for Kejriwal’s political career. Needless to say, Kejriwal will rue the day he Insulted Hindus and made fun of Kashmir Genocide in the Delhi assembly.
